Donegal County Council has sent out its team of gritters across the county this afternoon with more snow and sleet forecast for this evening.
Gritters have been sent out to all of the primary routes starting from 4pm today.
It follows a warning of continued freezing temperatures in the north-west overnight.
Further falls of sleet and snow are also forecast for over the weekend by Met Eireann as well as freezing temperatures bringing more icy conditions.
