It was a day when there were no words.
Hugs, handshakes, tears, a rub on the back or a knowing look said it all.
These communities in West Donegal have lived with heartache down through the years.
From the heartache of saying goodbye to a generation of young people forced abroad through a lack of jobs to tragedies at sea.
Coping in the most trying of circumstances, in times of loss or tragedy is something they have come to live with and help one another with.
The emotion is raw and will be for many months to come.
But in Falcarragh and Dunlewey, in Gortahork and into the Rosses, they will take the families and friends of the four young lads into their hearts.
They will never bring back Shaun, Micheal, Daniel or John.
But they will ensure that their memory and all the goodness they left behind them is never forgotten.
