A Letterkenny man who became embroiled in an altercation at a Letterkenny apartment complex told Gardai: ‘You’re f***** dead the next time I see you’.

Kyle Gormley, of 39 The Gardens, Ballymacool was before Letterkenny District Court on charges arising out of an incident at Riverside Apartments on December 12 last year.

Gardai arrived at the scene and found three males in an altercation, one of whom, Gormley, was ‘forcefully striking a door with a fire extinguisher’, Sergeant Jim Collins told the Court.

The men, he said, were acting ‘very aggressively and very abusive’ and Gormley told Garda Moyles: ‘You’re f***** dead next time I see you. I won’t forget this.’

A co-accused, Paddy Kelly,of 14 The Gardens, was highly intoxicated and agitated and beckoning the occupant of the apartment to come out and fight.

“They were making more noise and generating more anxiety than causing a threat,” defending solicitor Frank Dorrian told the Court.

“It is alleged the third gentleman presented a knife and then retreated into the apartment. My clients thought about this and due to their high state of intoxication they attempted to redress that. The original argument is hard to identify,”

The two men, who have no previous convictions, were fined €100, payable to the Letterkenny Youth and Community Club, who are embarking on a project to refurbish the Devlin Hall.
