We have never seen as much golf been played at Letterkenny Golf Course during the month of December 2018.
The normal Wednesday and weekend competitions were mostly successful during last month – apart from a few cancellations due to weather conditions.
The mild winter certainly is partly due to this fact but also the fact that the course is in such good shape and there is a run on the ball on some of the fairways is also a large contributory factor.
It was great to see the Car Park full on the first Saturday morning in January 2019. The golfing season has certainly got off to an early start this year.
The last competition of the year 2018 was held on Sunday 30th December. This competition was won in style by Enda Mannion (11.4) with one birdie and 9 pars scoring an excellent 42 pts.

The ‘Get into Golf Programme’ commences again in 2019. It has been very successful since its commencement in 2016. It appeals to people who would like to take up golf but for whatever reason, it just does not happen.
The ‘Get into Golf Programme’ provides golf clubs, golf bag, and balls.
New members are given a chance to learn the basics of the game as well as the rules and etiquette of golf. There is also a follow up with a buddy system where new members can go out with a club member to play the course.
Ivan Fury and Veronica McAteer are running the ‘Get into Golf Programme’ and can be contacted on (074)9121150
