Gardai apprehended a man, who jumped into a hedge after attempting to evade arrest in Donegal.
Conal McShane, with an address in Eglinton, county Derry, was the passenger in a vehicle which failed to stop for Gardai on June 17, 2016.
When Gardai caught up with the vehicle at the top of Lurgybrack, McShane alighted from the vehicle and ran down the hill, Letterkenny District Court was told.
Sergeant Charlene Anderson said: “It was getting dark, vehicles were coming up the hill and having to take evasive action.
“The defendant fled into shrubbery, but was located and subsequently arrested.”
On two occasions, McShane was given the chance to avail of an adult caution, but did not turn up.
Judge Paul Kelly imposed a fine of €100, giving McShane – who was not present in court – five days to pay.
