Listen: Dunfanaghy Youths yearn for some home comforts after history Youth League win

Danny Ferry says securing a new home remains the priority for Dunfanaghy Youths after they won the Donegal Youth League title yesterday.

A 5-1 win at Lagan Harps means Dunfanaghy have been crowned champions for the first time – adding to the John Gorey Curran Cup they won in May.

Ferry would love to keep his team together and enter the ranks of the Donegal League.

“If we could get facilities secured, a senior team would be the natural progression,” he said.

After being forced to leave their pitch at Kill, Dunfanaghy earlier this year, having spent 25 years there, the club are actively pursuing a new home for a club that caters for well in excess of 100 players.

Two goals each from Luke McCarry and Edward O’Reilly, plus another from Sean Geaney, gave Dunfanaghy the silverware yesterday.
