Brett McGinty returned to action last night with an impressive win in Germany.
The Oakleaf ABC middleweight overcame German champion Stephan Nikitin.
The St Johnston man took an impressive unanimous decision win.
McGinty is sharpening his tools ahead of cracks at Ulster and Irish Elite crowns in early 2019.
McGinty was in Germany as part of an Ulster High Performance squad that was spending five days.
Last month, McGinty’s Irish foe Michael Nevin overcame Nikitin at the European Elite Championships in Spain.
McGinty has been an Irish Elite finalist in each of the last two years, losing out to Nevin in the 2018 final at middleweight having been pipped by Dean Walsh in the 2017 welterweight decider.
