A popular Facebook group brought local parents together last Sunday for a fun festive fundraiser.
The Letterkenny Babies Christmas Jumper party has now become a much-anticipated annual family day out. Each year, parents and children enjoy an afternoon out with music, fun and games in aid of charity.
This year’s party raised €1,100 for The Belarus Orphanage Appeal. The donation will be awarded to Myrtle Doherty from Ramelton, who runs an appeal at the beginning of every year to send vital goods to children in Belarus. Many of the children in Vesnova have been affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and have been affected by birth defects and cancer.
Letterkenny Babies page administrators Louise Flanagan and Edel McElhinney said they were delighted with the amount raised for Myrtle’s appeal at Sunday’s Christmas party.
Children enjoyed a bouncy castle, mini petting zoo, dancing, face painting, treats and much more as the Community Centre was taken over by families and elves!
Louise and Edel have said a warm thank you to everyone who attended the party, adding thanks to:
Dj Marty for the music
Art and Soul by Lynnette and Cora for face painting
Party Animals for the petting zoo
Letterkenny Community Centre for the premises
Gibson & Associates Solicitors for sponsoring the hall
JDB Photography for taking pictures
