Donegal Airport at Carrickfinn is to benefit from €650,060 in funding allocated for further development.
The funding was announced by Minister Joe McHugh today, who praised the airport staff and the iconic location.
“Donegal Airport is like a jewel in the crown of the Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal and financial backing like this is an investment in the top class people who run the airport and those who are fortunate enough to get to use it,” Minister McHugh said.
This funding comes on the back €326,700 funding that was sanctioned earlier this year to cover costs associated with safety and security.

Minister McHugh added: “Donegal Airport at Carrickfinn is right up there every year among the world’s top travel experts and public as one of the most scenic places in the world to fly in and out of.
“It’s not just how it looks but it’s also the warm welcome you receive.
“I am delighted to be able to confirm this funding and I want to commend the top class standards and exceptional service that all the staff at Carrickfinn put on.”
