Inishowen League rose to the occasion on Sunday afternoon when they secured a much-needed 3-0 victory at Maginn Park.
Three second-half goals from Kevin O’Loughlin, Terence Doherty and Shaun Doherty on Sunday afternoon were enough to give Diarmaid O’Brien’s side the top spot on goal difference.
Speaking to Donegal Daily’s Charlie Collins after the game, O’Brien said he was delighted that his team managed to get some late goals.
He said: “I think the late goal put us in a strong position now. Sligo are not out of the equation either they have to play Donegal at home.
“Probably a one to two-goal win would see them through, so we could actually end up at the top of the table, but our priority today was to get the three points.”
