Operation Enable was launched in Donegal last week to stop people abusing designated disabled parking bays – however not all motorists are following the rules yet.
Gardaí in Letterkenny caught a typical case of illegal parking in the town this week, just days after the initiative was launched.
Sharing details on social media, Gardaí reveal how they fined the driver of a Mini car who half-parked in a disabled spot on Church Lane.
The driver did not have a disabled parking permit on display and left no room for a legitimately disabled driver to access the spot.

Operation Enable sees Gardaí and Traffic Wardens increasing their efforts to target the unauthorised use of disabled parking bays and disabled parking permits in County Donegal.
This operation takes place from the 29 November to 8 December 2018.
