The man who died in a road crash in Barnesmore Gap last night has been named as John Gallagher.
Mr Gallagher, aged 27, of Croaghlin, Killybegs, was the sole occupant of a van which collided with a derelict house on the N15 at Cashelnavene outside Ballybofey. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 11:15 pm on Monday night.
Mr Gallagher’s funeral will be held in Killybegs on Thursday 6th December.
His remains will repose at his brother Martin’s residence from 4pm to 11pm on Wednesday 5th December.
Removal on Thursday morning at 10 30am. to St. Mary’s Church, Killybegs for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
The family have requested family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to the Irish Kidney Foundation. The family home will be strictly private.
The N15 road was reopened after 1pm today following a morning of examinations and diversions.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who was travelling in the area between 10.30pm and 11.30pm last night to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100.
