One Donegal man had a bit more to lose than others on the outcome of Ireland’s gripping encounter with the New Zealand All Blacks on Saturday last.
Letterkenny native, Tony McGlynn has lived in New Zealand for the past 35 years.
During that time there has been plenty of times when Ireland’s rugby players didn’t quite get over the line against the mighty All-Blacks.
But Tony, who is originally from Ballymacool Terrace at the foot of the town, was pretty confident they would on this occasion.
And it just so happened that the brother of New Zealand captain Kieran Read is a work colleague.
So confident Tony did the natural thing and challenged colleague Mark to a jersey swap.
Here’s a picture of Tony and his adopted Irish work colleague Mark wearing his new green jersey – the colour of the future World Cup champions!
