Finn Harps say they are continuing to discuss the club’s budget and prepare for the 2019 season.
The club has had talks with manager Ollie Horgan and the club’s Board will have a further meeting at the weekend.
Horgan has expressed concerns about Harps’ capability to compete financially in the Premier Division next season.
For the first time, Harps are going into a ten-team Premier Division after their play-off win over Limerick.
“Finn Harps Football Club held a Board of Directors meeting last night where a very constructive and positive discussion took place on plans for the new 2019 season in the League of Ireland Premier Division,” a short club statement said.
“A further meeting will take place over the weekend to make further progress on a range of matters including the budget.”
Although Horgan has a year left to run on a two-year contract, there are fears the St Eunan’s College schoolteacher could walk away should he deem the budget to be insufficient.
