Buncrana footballer Shane McLaughlin completed the gruelling Sea2Summit Challenge at the weekend – ten months after undergoing TWO brain surgeries.
Shane finished the challenge in two hours, 44 minutes and 50 seconds,.
The event began at the Westport Plaza and Castlecourt Hotel Resort and included a 4k run, 8k cycle, 3k mountain run on Croagh Patrick, an 11k cycle and ending with another 4k run.
Shane was playing senior football with the Buncrana senior Gaelic football team when a growth on his brain was discovered. Although the growth was non-cancerous, the location of it meant it was a potentially dangerous one for the young footballer.
Having had two surgeries just ten months ago, Shane has been back in training with Buncrana.
