The school bus service will be restored today for Milford secondary school students from Kilmacrennan and Termon.
A number of students from the area have been waiting over two months for school transport this term after provision delays in the Department of Education.
As of today, the pupils will avail of a service catering for 34 people.
Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has welcomed the service recommencement as a victory for local parents.
He said: “I wish to compliment the parents of these students who have fought a Trojan battle to obtain the bus services and for the broader community which attended the various public meetings, particular thanks must be extended to those parents which attended the Dáil and met with the Minister of State for School Transport John Halligan.
“A special word of appreciation goes to the action group for their great work on this campaign.
“The new school bus service can cater for 34 students and should be adequate to meet the needs and demands of the areas which up till now could not avail of a school bus service,” Deputy Gallagher concluded.
