Two Irish language presenters from Donegal enjoyed success this week at the Oireachtas Media Awards, aka the Irish ‘Oscars’.
The event on Wednesday night celebrated key figures in Irish language media, with many local personalities in the running for top prizes.
Caitlín Nic Aoidh from Falcarragh scooped TV Personality of the Year 2018. The TG4 host is well-known as a weather presenter and was a Seachtain na Gaeilge Ambassador for 2018. Nic Aoidh is also the Irish Language ambassador for Cloughaneely.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta presenter and sports commentator Damien Ó Dónaill won the title of Réalta Óg na Bliana.
Damien won the RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltachta/GAA commentary competition in 2013.
The Rannafast man succeeded the late Seamus Mac Geidigh as the voice of Donegal RnaG.
The Gradam Chumarsáide was held as part of Oireachtas na Samhna, the country’s largest Irish language cultural and arts festival in Killarney.
