Letterkenny Educate Together National School has passed all structural assessments carried out under the Western Building Systems alert.
The newly-opened national school at Kiltoy was the only school in Donegal among the 42 schools under analysis this week.
The Department of Education announced that Letterkenny Educate Together has passed initial structural inspections and does not require internal or external intervention.
The school will reopen as normal after the mid-term break.
Seventeen other schools around the country have been found to have structural defects and require intervention.
Ardgillan Community College in Dublin is closed due to severe structural issues, while Tyrrelstown ETNS, St Luke’s National School and Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, Lucan, are to have all upper floors closed apart from the ground floor on Monday.
Fourteen other schools will be allowed to open in full, following external intervention in the form of a fence around the building and protective decking.
Inspection reports from a further 13 school buildings continue to be analysed and will be released later today.
Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh T.D. said: “The outcomes of further structural assessments which we have received today are important in providing clarity to school authorities, students and parents.
“The advice I have received is that no other building has presented the same severity of structural issues as those identified in Phase 1 of Ardgillan Community College, which was built in 2009.”
The Department of Education has contacted all school principals to inform them of the latest situation.
