Frank McGlynn has backed Glenfin’s youngsters to step up to the plate again as they head into the Ulster Intermediate Championship.
The Donegal star was key to Glenfin’s Donegal IFC win, beating favourites Aodh Ruadh in the final, but he says the emerging faces around Pairc Taobhoige are driving the club back up the ladder again.
In 2001, Glenfin won the Ulster Intermediate title and this Sunday they take on Derry champions Banagher in an Ulster quarter-final at Sean MacCumhaill Park.
“For the youth, it’s just another game of football and that’s the best thing about it,” McGlynn said.
“Older lads might put more emphasis on it.
“We came down into the intermediate two years ago and our big aim was to get back to senior again. It’s an added bonus now to have an Ulster campaign. We have a tough start, but we’ll give it our best shot.”
