The Letterkenny parkrun committee has invited staff of Donegal County Council to join the regulars at this Saturday’s walk/run as part of their Workplace Invitation initiative.
This punderful invite gives all the details:
Donegal County Council are the “Invited Workplace” sector for November to join the regulars at Letterkenny parkrun this Saturday 03 November at St Conal’s Complex, Kilmacrennan Road, which is the Housing Section for 5k event commences at 09.30.
It could be the case that all Elected Members may not take part if there is not a quorum which would be a Chief Executive decision but there has been Public Consultation and Planning for this event, so it is likely there will be No Objection to walking, jogging, or running the distance. Council Staff will not be Taxed, as trainers are the only mode of Transport in parkrun and it has been Engineered as a “free to enter” event from commencement. The Environment is always friendly and parkrun got enough of a Water Supply last Saturday to last a while. As well a providing a fitness regime, parkrun also provides a Cultural Service (Tea ,Coffee and Chat) and they cater for a cross section of the Community.
The location for parkrun means that it is close to the Emergency Services hub. The Roads Department might have some chips on their shoulder if not mentioned, but it only Leaves one Branch outstanding and that is the Gardeners who look after The Letterkenny Town Park so well for the holding of parkrun every Saturday.
It is hoped that all of Donegal County Council Departments as mentioned above will come along, enjoy themselves and have a Pun day in the park.
The Letterkenny parkrun is open to everyone in the public. The free event takes place every Saturday at 9.30am at St Conals Hospital Campus, Kilmacrennan Rd, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. To register, visit www.parkrun.ie/letterkenny
