The message from Met Eireann is that we are in for a prolonged cold snap.
Weather charts show a particularly chilly night for Sunday after temperatures start to drop from Friday.

And it could say cool right up to the end of the month, with freezing conditions expected until at least the middle of next week.
A Met Eireann spokesperson said “Over the next two weeks the weather should be fairly settled.
“Temperatures for this time of year are fairly average, but it will certainly get colder towards next weekend.
“While it is to get cold by the end of the month, at the moment our forecasts show no indication that it should snow over the next two weeks.”
