Letterkenny woman Una Black is the face of a new ad campaign encouraging people in Co. Donegal to go out and vote.
Una, a client of Karen Gorman Speech and Drama, brings a personal touch to the advert by the Referendum Commission.
The local grandmother opened her home to TV cameras to celebrate her passion for voting as an Irish citizen. Paying tribute to her own mother’s activism, Una talks about how she always encourages her family to use their right to vote.
“I love voting, it gives me that wee bit of power,” Una says.

Karen Gorman is bursting with pride for Una after her successful casting, saying: “We are so incredibly proud of her! Una was chosen from a huge amount of applications and the film crew came to Donegal from Dublin to film.
“What an immeasurable achievement for this absolute lady!” Karen added.
Screen talent runs in Una’s family, it seems. Her grandson Caolan, son of Andrea and Paul Kelly is also a student at Karen’s school and has enjoyed great success in auditions.
The Irish public will be going to the polls on Friday 26th October to vote in the referendum on blasphemy, which will take place on the same day as the Presidential election.
