A charity shop in Carndonagh has gained much local support after it was opened to raise money for the Truth for Danielle Fund.
The ‘Good as New’ store has been a go-to place for donating goods and finding bargains since it opened last week. All donations are welcome to the shop, which is located upstairs above G&S Costcutters on Church Rd Carndonagh.
The charity shop has been established to raise money for the ‘Truth for Danielle Fund’. Money will assist the family of the late Buncrana woman Danielle McLaughlin, who was tragically murdered in India in March 2017.
Danielle’s family face high legal costs as her accused killer Vikat Bhagat stands trial in South Goa.
Danielle’s mother Andrea Brannigan and her family continue to rely on local support and donations to cover the legal fees and keep their representation at the trial.
The Good As New Charity Shop will be open for six more weeks until the 24th of November.
Organiser Kay McDaid said: “Any money, donations, clothes, towels, bedding, curtains will be welcome to help raise as much money as possible to help get the Truth for Danielle and her family and friends.”
“We open from 10am until 5pm every day and 2pm until 5pm on Sunday.”
A fundraising raffle is also being hosted by the shop. The draw will be held on November 24th and tickets are available to buy instore at €2 each or three for €5.
Kay adds that anyone who would like to donate a prize for the raffle is very welcome to do so. Simply drop it into the shop.
