Donegal’s Physical & Sensory Disability Service hosted a Carers day on October 11 in the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny.
The aim of the day, which hosted 40 people, was for Carers to take time out, away from their caring role, to focus on themselves and also to have an enjoyable and fun experience.
Physical & sensory disability Service Manager, Anita Gallagher, said: “Within the HSE our focus is often mostly on making sure the person with the disability is cared for and we often forget who is supporting the Carer. Today is a day to give that support back to the Carer and to help the Carer take time out to think about looking after themselves.”
