Several areas of South Inishowen are without water this morning due to a major burst pipe which is causing a water outage across the peninsula.

Muff, Newtowncunningham, Burt, Bridgend and parts of Buncrana are reported to have been affected by the ruptured pipeline.

Irish Water crews are working on fixing the issue but it is unknown when the water outage will be restored.

If you need to contact Irish Water about this supply and services alert, you can use this unique alert reference number: DON027947.

More to follow.
