Mona McSharry missed out on a Youth Olympic medal by just 0.02 seconds.
The Marlin’s Swimming Club, Ballyshannon clubwoman finished fourth in the 100m breaststroke in Buenos Aires.
McSharry had set a good early pace and was actually in the lead at the first turn.
However, the visibly tiring McSharry was caught by her rivals and the Grange woman agonisingly missed out on a podium place.
The World junior champion was also just outside the medals in the 50m breaststroke.
McSharry will also compete in the 200m breaststroke and the 50m freestyle.
