On-fire Ronan Curtis netted another winner for Portsmouth last and says he’s in high confidence right now.
The St Johnston man’s blistering start to his Pompey career led to a Republic of Ireland senior call up for last month’s friendly against Poland.
Last night’s goal in the 1-0 League One win away to Coventry City was his sixth since making the summer move from Derry City.
“When I did my first interview, I said I was here to score and set-up goals and that’s exactly what I’ve done,” Curtis said.
“Hopefully I can stay fit and keep my confidence high to continue helping the team win more matches.
“I didn’t think I’d play as much as I did this early on, but the manager and his staff have shown a lot of faith in me and I’m enjoying it.”
Curtis has already become a fans’ favourite at Fratton Park and Pompey are now 11 games unbeaten.
Curtis said: “The guys are gelling well and we’re working together on the training pitch. There’s a great feeling around the place.
“There’s a buzz among the squad and that’s what you need. There’s a passion and hunger – that’s what we showed to get this latest result.
“We’re 11 unbeaten now and have won two on the bounce away from home, so we’re all over the moon.”
