Reigning Donegal League Premier Division champions Kildrum Tigers have unveiled a new manager.
Shane McGinty has tonight been announced by the St Johnston club as successor to Shane Brown, who has stepped down from the Station Road Park hot-seat.
The 24-year-old plays with Irish League Premier Division outfit Ballymena United, with whom he signed a two-year deal in the summer.
“Kildrum Tigers are delighted to announce Shane McGinty as our new first team manager,” the club confirmed on its Facebook page this evening.
“Shane takes over from Shane Brown, who confirmed to the club committee at the end of last week that he was stepping down from the position.
“Kildrum Tigers thanks Shane Brown for his time and effort in the role. Last year, he helped to guide us to a Premier Division and Brian McCormick Cup double before being named manager of the year at the League’s annual awards.
“Shane McGinty comes into the role having been assistant manager to Shane Brown.
“Shane, despite his young years, has a wealth of managerial experience and was at the helm in 2017 when Kildrum Tigers won the Under-19 Foyle Cup, defeating Norwich City in the final.”
