Minister Rural and Community Development, Mr Michael Ring TD, has made a significant funding announcement for a new wheelchair accessible vehicle for Derrybeg today.
The announcement was made as part of the Minister’s tour of Donegal visiting projects and initiatives supported by his Department.
The Minister allocated the funding for the Derrybeg community through his Department’s CLÁR Programme.
He said: “I am delighted to announce €41,480 in funding for a wheelchair accessible vehicle for Coiste Ionad Lae na Sean Daoine under Measure 4 of my Department’s CLÁR Programme. This vehicle will transport people from Gweedore, The Rosses and Cloughaneely to the Day Centre in Derrybeg on a daily basis. I have no doubt that it will bring great benefit to these communities.”
