A man who fell asleep on a footpath in Letterkenny has been fined €150.
Sean McBride, from Armagh, was in the town on a stag party on September 1st last.
McBride, who had been working in Dublin as a labourer, had worked until 4am the previous morning before traveling to Donegal, his solicitor Patsy Gallagher said.
Gardai received a call to say a man was asleep at Larkin’s Lane close to Lower Main Street on the date in question.
When Gardai arrived, the 37-year-old was drunk, slurring his speech and could not remember where he was staying.
“He had been drinking all day and fell asleep on the footpath,” added Mr Gallagher.
Judge Paul Kelly was told that the accused had already lodged €150 bail money and he fined him that amount.
