Trevor Alcorn’s approach to training is something that might just catch on.

After his Termon Under-16s overcame Four Masters 1-10 to 0-8 in yesterday evening’s League final in Letterkenny, Alcorn revealed how he kept the Burn Road boys wanting to turn up night after night.

“We have a serious group, but the secret to keeping them together is that they enjoy training,” he said.

“We didn’t set down to do the winter stuff and the hard work. We played football from day one.

“One night, we trained in a field in Gartan – it was the only bit of grass we could get – for two and a half hours and they wanted to train on. I had no hassle getting them to training.”
