Finn Valley pair Noreen Bonner and Gloria Donaghy won silver medals at the World Masters Championships in Malaga today.

Ireland won team silver in the half marathon, with Bonner and Donaghy contributing to the success.

Indeed, Bonner was just outside the reckoning for an individual medal in her category as she finished fourth.

Bonner, whose time was 1:40.41, finished just behind Christine Sachs of Germany, who took the bronze medal. Christine Kennedy of USA won with Marcelina Hernaiz from Spain taking silver.

Donaghy finished in 2:07, while Garvan Boyce also complied and finished in 1:41.
