A young country singer who has made waves online is back with a new release and video, filmed against the backdrop of the waves of the Atlantic.
Leanne Rowlette (aged 13) has released a new video to the song ‘Caledonia’. Filming took place in one of Donegal’s most beautiful and dramatic locations – Sliabh Liag.
The Sligo girl is best known for her ‘Tractor Factor’ viral video in 2017. Footage of Leanne working on her dad’s farm singing Will Ye Go Lassie Go made national headlines when it was shared online.
Now, the Caledonia video by Brian Kerrigan and Videotek Media Productions is gaining similar traction with almost 1,000 shares on Facebook alone.
The young songstress started singing following the sad passing of her mother after childbirth. Leanne was seven years old.
Leanne’s proud dad Sean tells Donegal Daily: “Leanne started singing after her mum died 5 years ago.
“We were on the farm one day and Leanne was singing on the tractor and I recorded her and put it on Facebook and it went viral.”
Leanne, who started secondary school in August, has recorded 6 songs in last year and a half. She has recently appeared on stage at the Kilcar Festival, the Sligo Festival, and other country music shows.
The star-in-the-making counts Lisa McHugh and Philomena Begley as big influences and often enjoys getting airplay on Donegal radio.
