Traffic calming on the Windy Hall Road denied because of lack of public lighting

A motion to install traffic calming on the Windy Hall Road has been denied because of the lack of public lighting in the area. 

The narrow road, which is just off the N56 in Letterkenny, was not recommended for traffic ramps because the country road does not fit the criteria in accordance with the guidelines set-out.

The Letterkenny Municipal District Council denied the motion because of the lack of public lighting in the location.

There is less than two lamp posts on the Windy Hall Road.

The carriageway is scheduled for surface dressing as well as lining and signing before the end of October.
