Comedian Stephen Fry lends his support to Donegal campaign

English comedian Stephen Fry has lent his support to a Donegal campaign against an Oyster Farm in Loughros Mór bay near Ardara after he accidentally received an email intended for someone else. 

The 61-year-old proceeded to share the campaign on his 12.7M strong Twitter account – with people as far as Belgium and Germany signing it since.

Writing on his account, he wrote: ‘It made me aware, though, of the people of Loughros Mór in glorious County Donegal and their fight against a 200-acre oyster farm in their famous, beautiful bay’.

The Tweet, posted on Wednesday morning, has already racked nearly 100 retweets and almost 600 likes.

The campaign had been set up following concerns about a proposed Oyster Farm development in the Carn area.
