Irish Water is to host a public information evening to respond to queries about the Ramelton, Milford and Rathmullan Sewerage Scheme on October 15th.
At present the towns of Ramelton, Milford and Rathmullan have no (Ramelton and Rathmullan) or substandard (Milford) wastewater treatment and are discharging untreated or partially treated wastewater into the environment at these three separate locations.
“The practice of discharging untreated wastewater is unacceptable and Irish Water intends to rectify this problem,” the company said.
“The proposed project will involve the design and construction of a new wastewater treatment plant that will deal with the wastewater from the three areas whilst safeguarding the environment and protecting human health.
“During this information evening members of the project team will be available to answer any questions and take feedback in relation to the project.”
The Public Information Evening will take place at The Chamber, Milford Public Services Centre on Monday 15th October from 5.30-7.30pm to present plans for the Ramelton, Milford and Rathmullen Sewerage Scheme.
