A brand new course is set to begin in Letterkenny to help parents of teenagers to better understand and communicate with their children.
The eight-week programme starts on Wednesday 19th September in the Letterkenny Pastoral Centre with speakers advising parents on the tools they need to not just communicate with their teenagers but to have a much deeper and meaningful relationship with them.
Parents are struggling like never before. As soon as a child gets hold of a smart phone, laptop or tablet they enter a whole other world, a world that parents very often cannot penetrate.
It is widely acknowledged that children and teenagers are under far more pressure than any generation before them. They are being bombarded with information and peer pressures from modern technology and social media in ways that have never been experienced before.
Parents are often at a loss how to communicate, guide, understand or even relate to the young adult who has suddenly seemed to grow up and grow away from them so fast.
In addition to this, parents are the ultimate multitaskers, fulfilling many roles which include spouse, parent, home maker, wage earner, nurse, guide, listener, consolers, entertainers, and so much more. This results in the parent often feeling worn out, stressed out and with no time to take care of themselves.
If you would like to have less stress in your life and a better relationship with your teenagers or children in general, this course is for you.
