Broadcaster Ryan Tubridy has had another action-packed day in Donegal today meeting locals and exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1 has joined forces once again this year with Fáilte Ireland, as part of its ‘Embrace the Wild Atlantic Way of Life’ campaign, to broadcast shows from Donegal.
Tubs went live from Rathmullan Pier on Tuesday and received a warm welcome from the local seaside community.
Many spectators came down to watch the broadcast and hosted festivities and entertainment for the national show. Tubridy’s station was set against a beautiful backdrop of the seaside and views of sailing boats and he made time for a walkabout outside the station to meet with locals.
As part of his show, Tubridy interviewed Chloe Kennedy from Letterkenny and Ella Scott from Galway on their efforts saving birds and keeping plastics off beaches.
He also met with local community activist John Gallagher who spoke of the marine environment in Rathmullan and the tourist attractions in the locality. Local historian Anne Deeney also had a fascinating chat with the host.
Rathmullen NS Principal Alma Kavanagh/ Curren spoke of the variety of events locally to celebrate the endless historical significance of Rathmullen and the Flight of the Earls.
During his time in Donegal, Ryan visited some of the beautiful, iconic spots on the Northern coast as he encouraged his listeners to ‘Embrace the Wild Atlantic Way of Life’.
Clive Wasson was there for all the festivities. See more photos in the gallery below:
