Shane McNamee scored a brace of goals as Derry City soared to a record-breaking FAI Senior Cup win over Blarney United today.
McNamee – pictured by thejungleview – hit a double in the second half for his first two goals for the Candystripes’ first team as Derry defeated the Cork side 12-2.
Derry became the first team to score 12 goals in an FAI Cup tie and Carndonagh teenager Cathal Farren also got in on the act for Kenny Shiels’ side.
McNamee had followed in the footsteps of older brothers Barry and Tony when he made his first team debut for the Candystripes in a 2-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers in June.
Ally Roy bagged four goals, Aaron McEneff and Ronan Hale also scored twice while Kevin McHattie got in on the act with a goal.
