Ollie Horgan insists that Finn Harps ‘have to play better’ if they are to return to the Premier Division.
Goals from Mikey Place, Jesse Devers and Sam Todd gave Harps a comfortable win, extending their unbeaten record to six games.
“We have to play better to get there (play-offs),” Horgan said.
“We do have to get better to get to the play-offs and we’ll have tougher tests.
“Galway have to come here. They’re a good side. Should they turn us over, that will open the whole thing up. If we are right in it to the end….but to get to Cabinteely will take results to go our way. The likes of Longford and Galway haven’t gone away.”
Harps race into a two-goal lead inside 24 minutes while Todd headed in a third in the second half.
Horgan said:“We were very good until the second goal. We weren’t so good until half-time and we huffed and puffed in the second half. When you don’t put away chances, they’ll always get a chance – and they did.
“Luckily the goal came early. If it hadn’t, it might have been a different night. It’s a good result, but we’ve moved on quickly.”
