DONEGAL WERE PEGGED back to an even keel by Armagh in the latter stages of this afternoon’s Ladies TG4 All-Ireland SFC quarter-final and just when the game looked to be running away from them, Eilish Ward struck two vital points.
Donegal’s 28-point win – 9-21 to 4-8 – over Armagh in Ulster meant they were massive favouties heading to Healy Park, but Ward felt the Orchard County would never be easy pickings.
Even with Donegal 0-11 to 0-5 in front at the break, Armagh came back to level before two late points from Ward and one from Niamh Hegarty sealed the three-point victory, 0-19 to 1-13.
