Burgers and Papa Johns pizzas will be on the dinner menu for many Donegal people this weekend as the brand new Supermac’s store opens its doors.
Friday (August 3rd) sees the launch of Donegal’s first Supermac’s fast-food restaurant and forecourt. The outlet, operated by existing franchisee Ken Foley, has brought up to 60 new jobs to the area.
Overall, an estimated 110 jobs were supported through the construction and staffing of the complex at Drumlonagher, outside Donegal Town.
The complex, which began construction last autumn, includes a two-storey Supermac’s Restaurant, drive-thru facility, a retail convenience store, car and HGV fuelling pumps.
Supermac’s has over 100 family restaurants across Ireland. Recent expansion has created 400 jobs with six new outlets in 2018.
Supermac‘s M.D. Pat McDonagh, said that the new store openings were being driven by customer demand. “The success of our fresh range of fresh, never frozen, beef and chicken has meant that we are opening several new outlets throughout the country to meet customer demand with more planned later in the year,” he said.
There will be more excitement at the Donegal Supermac’s outlet in September when it hosts the launch of the Cannonball Supercar Spectacle. This will be the first time that the event has come to Donegal, with large crowds expected to come for free family entertainment and to get up close and personal with the world’s top mark cars such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley. The event takes place on Friday, September 7th.
