Kevin Mills won the President’s Prize in the Letterkenny Hospitals Golf Society.
In his victory speech, long-time society member Mills admitted that he had been trying for many years to win his first ‘major’ and was therefore delighted to win Mr. John Mc Closkey’s President Prize and finally make his ‘major ‘breakthrough.
On a tricky day for scoring, with a stiff breeze and some tough pin positions , another big turn out of society members found the Barnhill course a real test and Kevin’s 37 Stableford Points was just enough to see him clinch his first big win by one point from runner-up Noel Duggan on 36 points.

Section two: Ciaran Williamson 36pts, Seamus McHugh 33pts , Hugh McClafferty 32pts.

Section four: Conal Mac aBhaird 34pts, Ken Sharpe 33pts, Bridget McClafferty 30pts.

The President John McCloskey thanked the members for such a big turn-out on his day and Barnhill Golf Club for hosting the event and having the course in such excellent condition for his President’s Prize.
Winner Kevin Mills also complimented the greenskeeper and his staff for their work on the course and the staff of Browns on the Green for their service and hospitality in the clubhouse.
The Society’s next outing will be Ms. Anne Cannon Captain’s Prize on Friday 31th August in Barnhill Golf Club.
