Glenswilly cyclist Cathal Gallagher has been selected to ride for the Irish National Team in a major race in Austria at the end of the month.
Gallagher, of Errigal Cycling Club, has been chosen by the Cycling Ireland Youth Commission as one of six riders who will go to the 2018 Radjugendtour Oststeiermark.
Gallagher will this weekend compete in the Errigal International Youth Tour.
The Irish team for Austria is made up of six riders from around the country.
The team was selected from the three major youth races, Rás Mhaigh-EO, Rás Na Nog & Kanturk.
The selectors were looking for aggressive riding, how riders worked as a team and results.
The six riders are: Keith Mulroy (Westport Covey Wheelers), Tom Moriarty (Kanturk CC), Cathal Gallagher (Errigal CC), Matthew Devins (Yeats Country), Sean Barrett (Kanturk CC), Jonathan Foster (Bohermeen CC).
