Family and friends of a much-loved member of the Letterkenny community gathered today to celebrate his life and lasting legacy.
The late John Mangan was a familiar face to all who passed through the town. The Churchill native was the face of the Irish Wheelchair Association in Letterkenny, tirelessly fundraising for the charity through the sale of bingo cards.
John sold cards outside Dillion’s Supermarket in the days gone by and more recently in the Courtyard Shopping Centre.
John passed away in July 2017 at the age of 77. His memory will live on with a new plaque which was revealed today by special guest and friend Neil Gallagher. Placed at what was once John’s usual spot, the plaque celebrates John’s friendly qualities and his lifelong work for those with disabilities.
