Peter McGinty on form to scoop Open win at Letterkenny Golf Club

On Wednesday, July 18, the DNG Boyce Gallagher McCahey Open was played off at Letterkenny Golf Club.

Peter McGinty (15.3) was on form on the day and won with a great score of 43 points.

Winners of the Sweeney’s Bar Open on July 11: Cian Harkin, Captain Hugh McClafferty, John Doran winner (41 points), Pauric McAleer and Gerard Duffy.

Peter took 9 pars out of the course. Ciaran Gilcreest (1.9) was the runner up with 41 points. taking 8 pars and 7 birdies in making up his score.

Shane Scanlon (5.2) took third place with 40 points (BOT) achieving 12 pars and 2 birdies in the process. Simon Stephens (2.3) won Gross with 37 points. (BOT).

On Friday, July 20, the NW Breast Care/Silver Tassie Open was played. Pauric Dunleavy was the winner with a great score of 45 points.

A deserving winner having got 10 pars and 5 birdies out of the course. Michael Collum (5.3) was the runner up with 41 points (BOT) and Marty Carlin took third place with 41 points.

Manor Motors Open was played on Saturday, July 21  Gary Loveridge (10.7) was the winner with a good score of 42 points (BOT).

Gary went around the course getting 9 pars and 2 birdies in the process. Malcolm Crawford (17.8) was the runner up with 42 points (BOT) and Nicholas Kenny took third place with 42 points. Christopher Duffy (4.9) won Gross with 39 points.

On Sunday, July 22, a Members Competition was played.  Jack McGarrigle (10.8) was the winner with a great score of 45 points.  Jack had 11 pars and 2 birdies.  Paddy Doherty (12.6) was the runner up with 43 points and Jack Hickey (23.5)  took third place with a good score of 40 points. Jack Patton (4.4) won Gross with 37 points.

The Cat 4 Competition played on Monday, July 16, was won by Dermot Higgins with 30 points over 13 holes. Robin McDowell was runner up with 29 points and Jackie Duffy came in third with 28 points.
