Ciaran Clark has been knocked unconscious in a Magaluf bar attack, according to local reports.
The Republic of Ireland footballer is reported to have been punched in the face by a man who he previously had an altercation with. The towering centre-half qualified to play for Ireland through his Grandmother who hails from Milford.
Police arrested the alleged attacker but he was then released on bail and is set to appear before court on Monday.
Clark, who is now 28 suffered cuts and bruises but is said to have recovered from the ordeal.
He has won 29 caps for the Republic of Ireland and has become a mainstay at the heart of defence under Martin O’Neill representing the team at Euro 2016.
He joined the Magpies after Euro 2016 following sevens seasons at Aston Villa.
