The pupils of Little Angels Special School in Letterkenny had a memorable visit from the Special Olympics Flame of Hope on Thursday.
Five athletes from the school are competing this week in the Special Olympics Ireland Games which take place in Dublin from June 14th-17th. The Athletes are Killian Doogan, Caolan Crawford, Paul McFadden, Kyle Glackin and Jamie-Lee McColgan. They will be supported by mentors Liam O’Donnell, John McLaughlin and Kevin Maguire, who are all Special Needs Assistants in Little Angels School.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an important awareness raising and fundraising programme for Special Olympics organised by the Police Service of Northern Ireland and An Garda Síochána in Ireland.
Everyone at Little Angels was very excited at welcoming the Torch Run and they are incredibly proud of their representatives. Former Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Gerry McMonagle also attended the momentous event.
