Donegal County Council officials hope to meet with the Office of Public Works to develop the potential of An Grianan of Aileach at Burt as a tourism centre.
It follows a question by local county councillor Jack Murray on the issue.
He asked what progress had been made on making the site a tourist attraction.
The council replied “The council has engaged with the OPW to explore the opportunities to further develop the tourism potential of the Grianan of Aileach and arrangements will be made to seek a further meeting with the OPW to advance this objective.”
