Irish Hairdressing Federation Icon, Patrick Gildea’s experience was called in recently when he was asked to judge at the Irish Hairdressing Federation Championships in Croke Park.
The Irish Hairdressing Championships coined the Oscars of Irish Hairdressing have been run by the Irish Hairdressing Federation since its inception in 1974.
It showcases the best of the industries talent with technique based awards ranging from Cut and Colour Awards to Long Hair Up-styling and the more elaborate Creative Fantasy Award.
Patrick said he so honoured to be involved in this year’s awards.
He said “It is a complete privilege for me to be asked to judge at this year’s IHF awards in such an iconic venue like Croke Park. The IHF Championships are the definitive awards for the Irish hairdressing business and I was blown away by the standards and level of talent on display from all the contestants.
“Participating in competitions is an extremely important part of the development of any career, stepping out of your comfort zone and facing a challenge is a fantastic motivational tool for all hairdressers.
“When you enter any competition you are already a winner as it provides you with a massive learning opportunity. Watching others and learning from what they do is an amazing experience.
“Being part of this from a judging perspective, representing the industry from the North West was a really special experience for me and one of the highlights of the year so far”.
With the amazing backdrop of Croke Park and the high level of talent on display it is no surprise that the championships proved to be a huge highlight for everyone involved. Well done to all.
